Our first products at MNO are:

Non-GMO Canola Oil

NMO canola oil is grown from seed genetically tested to confirm that it has not been genetically modified [unlike most commercially produced canola.]

Canola oil has a fatty acid profile of 5% saturated fat, 57% monosaturated acid [oleic acid,] 23% polyunsaturated omega 6 and 10-15% polyunsaturated omega 3. To quote the Mayo clinic website, “Canola oil is very low in saturated fat and has a very high proportion of monosaturated fat. So, it’s a healthy and safe choice when it comes to oils.”

Mustard Oil

Also non-GMO, NMO’s mustard oil has a beautiful color and unique flavor. Familiar to the millions of people on the Indian sub-continent, we think those who try our mustard oil for the first time will like it a lot. It is equally delicious as a cooking oil or in salad dressing.

Mustard oil has traditionally been used both for cooking and as a topical agent in massage and hair care. Mustard oil has a similar fatty acid profile to that of canola oil, low in saturated fat, with 9-15% omega 3 fatty acids.

Canola and Mustard Meal

These are dry products consisting of what’s left after the oil had been cold pressed from our mustard and canola seed. Canola meal is a well regarded animal feed. Mustard meal shows good potential as a soil amendment for natural gardens. It is high in nitrogen and has been reported to have biofumigant potential.

AgOil Presses

For all you do-it-yourselfers. These presses can handle, among others, soybeans and sunflower seed in addition to canola and mustard. The economics for on farm feed production seem to be good. Contact Peter for more information.
